So Sorry…

I haven’t posted anything in over a month. I really don’t know where the time has gone. We have been trying to get the baby’s room all ready. The paint and wallpaper are up and most of the furniture is in place. We still need to get the curtains up and a few things on the wall. I also need to buy a rocker or glider. The airplane theme was a perfect fit since Brian is such an airplane junky. This little guy won’t have a chance to not like airplanes. :o)

We are still tossing names around. I think we are getting much closer, but nothing is definite yet so we are keeping it a secret for now.

My in-laws had a shower for me over the weekend in South Carolina. We had a great turnout and I received lots of nice things. Here are just a few pictures.

Brian is still working on the backyard. We planted nearly a half acre of grass seed about a month ago and since we have been in a drought since then, he has been watering whenever he can. It’s starting to take root, but it is going to be a long time before it is all filled in and looking nice. Hopefully it will turn out as we envisioned it. We want “Junior” to have a nice backyard to play in. I guess that gives Brian at least a year to get it in shape. :o)

I’ll try to post again soon.

The Results Are In

He is healthy and growing right on target. Now we have to start the name game and get the room ready. The end of June will be here before we know it.

Stubborn or Modest... Take Your Pick

The results were inconclusive. This little one would not cooperate and show all. I'm bummed cause I really wanted to know even though it does not matter either way. We scheduled another ultrasound for March 8th to try again. Everything else looked good. Size was right on track and all appendages were accounted for. My pictures did not download correctly so I cannot even add a new photo. Now to wait for another month...

How 'Bout Those Colts!

I'm a native Hoosier, so I couldn't help but cheer for the Colts last night. They had me worried in the beginning, but they recovered and stuck it out. I'm sure all of Indiana is in a state of bliss right now.

I also like watching the new commercials that they play during the Super Bowl. I think my favorite was the rock, paper, scissors one for Bud Light. There weren't too many others that really stood out though.
That's all for now. I'll update tomorrow. :o)

Can’t Wait Until Tuesday!

Less than a week until we hopefully will know if this little one is a boy or a girl. Let’s take a vote… what do you think? Several of the “wives’ tales” are pointing toward girl (not to mention my entire family thinks that), but there are a few that lean toward boy. We will be happy no matter what we get. I just want to know. :o)

I think I am feeling movement, but it’s so sporadic it’s hard to tell. I’m still battling nausea somewhat, but it’s definitely better than it was before. I’ve started to get a little bit of a belly, but at this point it just looks like more pudge. :o) I believe I have gained about 10 pounds so far which isn’t too bad. I still would like to keep my gain close to 25 pounds.

Brian’s birthday came and went. We went to eat at Texas Roadhouse the night before to celebrate and then we vegged on the couch and watched football all day on his actual birthday. (How ‘bout those Colts?!?)

The weather has turned cold here the last few days. There is a chance for snow/sleet here tonight. Of course everyone has begun panicking. These southerners are so funny. :o)

That’s about it for now. I’ll update again on Tuesday with the news.

Happy New Year!

Yes, I know, I’m a few days late. :o) We had quite a busy time over the holidays. We traveled over 650 miles to Indiana for Christmas with my family. We had a nice time while we were there, but the 10+ hour car ride is a killer. Then the following weekend we packed up again and headed to South Carolina to bring in the New Year with Brian’s family. That trip is a bit shorter (6+ hours) but still long and tiring. I’m glad to be back home now for a while.

I had my monthly doctor checkup this morning. Everything with this pregnancy seems to be going fine. We were able to hear the heartbeat on the Doppler. It was beating strongly in the 150 range. I have gained 5 pounds so far which is right on track. I’m trying to keep my gain to about 25 since I started out overweight. I go back for my next appointment on February 6th. I will have a full ultrasound then, and we will hopefully be able to see the gender of the baby.

I am finally starting to feel a little better lately. I still am low on energy, but the nausea/queasiness is subsiding somewhat.

We brought back a bunch of baby stuff from my sister and mom. Last weekend I worked on going through it to see what goodies I got. I set the cradle up in our bedroom. This cradle has been in our family for several generations. Although it wasn’t used for my mom as a baby, it was for her mother and siblings. It was used by all three of us (my sister, brother, and me) as babies, and my sister used it for both of her children. After I set it up, I had to cover it with a quilt because my cats seemed to think it was for them! I also got a Pack’n Play that is in great condition. I think I am going to leave that set up downstairs for naptime. I also got a baby bathtub, room monitors and some other odd and end items. I think I’ve got a good start on things and I still have over 5 months to go. We will probably start setting up the baby’s room after the ultrasound next month.

Until next time...
